Starting an on-line business is fairly easy once you understand the dynamics of the industry. The learning curve is steep but your experiences as a consumer on-line can help you with the task. If you have access to the internet, you can be in business for less than $100.

When you’re just starting out, I suggest looking at your own interests and background. Consider your experiences on-line and what seems like a natural fit. Believe me, the internet is big enough for every interest and everyone!
Next, get a notebook and spend a day surfing around the internet. Put on your business owner glasses, not your usual consumer eyes. The change of perception from consumer to business owner is critical. This is a strategic business research exercise.
Put search terms into Google and visit the results websites. Use the list above to help guide you. Make notes about what you searched and where you visited.
This is the time for discovery. Think about what you enjoy and explore those business opportunities.
One thing I’ve learned is that a combination of methods is necessary. I started out blogging and have added affiliates, information products and consulting. Do your research, do some soul searching and write down a plan of attack.
